Destination Guide

Australia offers strong opportunities in hospitality, finance, tourism, technology, healthcare and skilled trades, particularly in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Perth and regional resort areas. Workplace culture is generally direct, collaborative and relatively informal, with emphasis on professionalism, inclusion and work-life balance. Melbourne provides excellent dining, arts, sport and public transport, although housing can be expensive and the climate is changeable. Common work visas include employer-sponsored Skills in Demand visas, skilled migration pathways and working holiday visas for eligible nationalities. Applicants should check current requirements with the Department of Home Affairs, as eligibility depends on occupation, qualifications, experience, English ability and sponsorship. Relocating usually involves arranging a visa, tax file number, bank account, health cover and suitable accommodation. Australia is geographically vast, so travel between cities can be costly, but public transport and urban amenities are strong in Melbourne.
