Destination Guide

The United Arab Emirates is not an island, but it offers coastal living, beaches and modern urban communities across Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman and Ras Al Khaimah. Hospitality, tourism, retail, aviation, construction, healthcare, logistics and technology provide many job opportunities. The culture combines Islamic traditions with a highly international population, so respectful dress, punctuality and sensitivity toward local customs are important. Lifestyle is generally modern, with shopping malls, restaurants, beaches, desert activities and strong public transport in larger cities. Most foreign workers need an employer-sponsored residence visa and work permit; employers commonly arrange the process after an offer is accepted. Accommodation, transport, medical insurance and annual flights may be included in hospitality contracts. New arrivals should verify salary, working hours, probation, benefits and visa arrangements before relocating. Ajman generally offers a quieter and more affordable lifestyle than Dubai, while remaining within commuting distance.
