Destination Guide

Singapore is a compact island city-state with strong opportunities in hospitality, food and beverage, tourism, aviation, technology, finance, healthcare, and international business. Its culture blends Chinese, Malay, Indian, and Western influences, reflected in its festivals, languages, neighbourhoods, and excellent hawker food. The lifestyle is safe, efficient, clean, and highly connected, although accommodation and daily expenses can be expensive. Public transport is reliable, and beaches, parks, shopping districts, and cultural areas are easy to reach. Foreign professionals normally need an employer-sponsored work pass, such as an Employment Pass, S Pass, or Work Permit, depending on qualifications, salary, and occupation. The employer usually submits the application to Singapore's Ministry of Manpower. Relocating workers should budget for rent, transport, healthcare, deposits, and initial living costs, and confirm pass eligibility before accepting an offer.
