Destination Guide

Hong Kong is a compact, energetic city with a strong hospitality, finance, retail, technology and tourism economy. Hotel jobs are available in guest services, food and beverage, housekeeping, events and reservations, particularly in Central, Tsim Sha Tsui, Causeway Bay, Lantau and airport districts. Cantonese is widely used, while English is common in international hotels and Mandarin is increasingly valuable. Life combines dense urban neighbourhoods, excellent public transport, international dining, shopping and nightlife with beaches, hiking trails and outlying islands. Rent is high, so many newcomers share accommodation or live in areas with convenient MTR access. Overseas employees normally need an employment visa sponsored by the employer and must meet relevant qualifications and salary requirements. Secure a written offer before relocating, prepare certified documents and budget for deposits, accommodation, transport and healthcare.
