Destination Guide

The Philippines offers varied opportunities in hospitality, tourism, marketing, customer service, technology, education, and remote work. Major employment centers include Metro Manila, Cebu, Clark, Davao, Boracay, and Palawan. Filipino culture is welcoming, family-oriented, and strongly influenced by local traditions, Spanish history, American media, and diverse regional communities. Lifestyle ranges from fast-paced city living to relaxed island life, with beaches, diving, festivals, and affordable local food widely available. English is commonly used in business and hotels. Foreign nationals usually need an employer-sponsored work permit and appropriate visa, while requirements depend on nationality and contract length; tourist status does not authorize employment. Relocation costs vary, and Manila generally has higher rents and traffic than provincial or resort areas. Applicants should confirm salary, accommodation, transport, medical coverage, and visa sponsorship directly with the employer.
