Destination Guide

Malaysia offers varied opportunities in hospitality, tourism, retail, technology, finance, healthcare, education, and manufacturing. Popular locations include Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Langkawi, Kota Kinabalu, and Johor Bahru. The country has a multicultural society shaped by Malay, Chinese, Indian, and indigenous traditions, with Islam as the official religion and English widely used in business and tourism. Lifestyle costs are generally moderate, although central Kuala Lumpur and popular island destinations can be more expensive. Malaysia offers beaches, rainforests, historic towns, diverse food, and a relaxed social culture. Foreign nationals normally need an employment pass sponsored by their employer; approval depends on the role, qualifications, salary, and current immigration rules. Employers usually assist with documentation and relocation. Candidates should confirm visa conditions, accommodation, healthcare, taxation, and work rights before accepting an offer. Island living can be scenic but may involve fewer services and higher transport costs.
