Destination Guide

The United Arab Emirates is not an island, but it offers coastal city living across Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and other emirates. Hospitality, tourism, aviation, retail, finance, technology, healthcare, and construction provide substantial employment opportunities, with Dubai and Abu Dhabi being the main commercial centres. The culture combines Emirati traditions, Islamic values, and a highly international population; respectful dress and behaviour are expected, particularly during Ramadan. Lifestyle options range from beaches, desert activities, dining, shopping, and nightlife to museums and cultural sites. Summers are extremely hot, while winters are pleasant. Most expatriate employees need employer-sponsored residence and work visas, with medical checks and identity registration required. Employers may provide health insurance, flights, accommodation or an allowance, and annual leave. Candidates should confirm contract terms, probation, benefits, and relocation costs before moving.
