Destination Guide

Working in the Maldives can provide valuable opportunities in luxury hotels, resorts, restaurants, diving, watersports, wellness, marine conservation and guest services. Resort life is usually based on a private island, so employees commonly live in shared staff accommodation and receive meals, uniforms, medical support and transport or return-flight benefits. Maldivian culture is welcoming and strongly influenced by Islam, South Asian traditions and island community life; modest dress and respect for local customs are important, especially when visiting inhabited islands. Outside working hours, employees can enjoy beaches, snorkeling, diving, fishing and water activities, although remote resorts may feel quiet and isolated. Foreign employees require an employer-sponsored employment approval and work visa, with medical checks and document verification normally arranged by the company. Confirm contract terms, insurance, flight policy, accommodation and visa responsibilities before relocating.
