Housekeeping Coordinator

Hong Kong Shangri-La HKD 16,000–22,000 per month*
Job Description

The Housekeeping Coordinator supports the department’s daily administration and communication. Typical responsibilities include coordinating room-cleaning assignments, updating room status, handling guest and internal requests, preparing reports, maintaining records, communicating with Front Office and Engineering, and assisting supervisors with operational follow-up. Candidates should have good organisation, telephone and computer skills, attention to detail, and a service-minded attitude. Previous experience in hotel housekeeping, rooms division, or a coordination role is advantageous. The role requires flexibility for shifts, weekends and public holidays, along with the ability to remain calm in a busy luxury-hotel environment. Cantonese and English are useful in Hong Kong, while Mandarin and relevant hotel systems experience may be preferred.

The company places strong emphasis on personalised service, teamwork, professional development and creating memorable guest experiences. In Hong Kong, its properties serve international travellers, local guests and corporate clients, and provide structured opportunities across rooms, food and beverage, culinary, engineering, finance and corporate functions. Destination Guide

Hong Kong is a fast-paced international city and territory made up of Hong Kong Island, Kowloon and the New Territories, with excellent public transport and a strong hotel, tourism, finance, retail and professional-services market. Hospitality opportunities are concentrated in luxury hotels, resorts, restaurants, cruise-related services and event venues. Cantonese is the main local language; English is widely used in business and hotels, and Mandarin is valuable. The lifestyle combines dense urban neighbourhoods, shopping and dining with beaches, hiking trails and outlying islands. Housing can be expensive, so many employees share accommodation or live farther from central districts. Foreign employees generally need an employment visa sponsored by an eligible employer before starting work; requirements include a valid offer, relevant qualifications or experience and proof that the role cannot readily be filled locally. Check current Hong Kong Immigration Department rules before relocating.
