Destination Guide

Malaysia offers strong opportunities in hotel sales, wedding planning, banquets, tourism and resort operations, particularly in Langkawi, Penang, Kota Kinabalu, Kuala Lumpur and Johor. Langkawi and Penang provide island living, beaches, heritage, diverse food and a relaxed but active hospitality scene. Malaysian culture is multicultural, with Malay, Chinese, Indian and indigenous influences, and English is widely used in hotels. Lifestyle costs vary: island accommodation and imported goods can be expensive, while local food and transport are relatively affordable. Foreign nationals normally need an employer-sponsored Employment Pass arranged through the company before starting work; requirements depend on nationality, salary and position. Relocating candidates should confirm accommodation, medical coverage, air travel, probation terms and dependent-pass eligibility. Malaysia has tropical weather year-round, with seasonal rain and humidity, so transport and housing near the resort are important considerations.
