Destination Guide

Singapore is a compact, highly developed island city-state with strong opportunities in hospitality, tourism, finance, technology, healthcare and logistics. Hotels and resorts regularly recruit front-office supervisors, duty managers, guest-relations staff and food-and-beverage professionals, although competition can be strong. The culture is multicultural, efficient and generally respectful, with English widely used at work alongside Mandarin, Malay and Tamil. Lifestyle benefits include excellent public transport, safety, diverse food, modern healthcare and easy regional travel. Housing can be expensive, particularly near central areas, so many employees share accommodation or live farther from the city centre. Foreign candidates normally need an employer-sponsored work pass, such as an Employment Pass or S Pass; eligibility depends on salary, qualifications and government assessment. Employers usually guide successful applicants through the application process. Before relocating, confirm working hours, benefits, accommodation assistance and pass eligibility directly with Shangri-La.
