Destination Guide

Malaysia offers opportunities in customer service, shared services, technology, finance, manufacturing, tourism, and digital operations, especially around Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Johor, and Sabah and Sarawak. English is widely used in business, while Malay is the national language; multilingual skills such as Czech can be valuable in regional support centers. Life is generally affordable compared with many Western countries, with varied food, tropical weather, modern cities, beaches, and islands such as Langkawi, Penang, Tioman, and the Perhentians. Kuala Lumpur suits professionals seeking transport, shopping, and international communities, while Penang offers a more relaxed lifestyle and strong technology presence. Foreign employees normally need employer sponsorship for an Employment Pass, with approval requirements depending on salary and role. Plan for housing, healthcare, transport, insurance, and local banking before moving, and confirm visa arrangements directly with the employer.
