Destination Guide

The Philippines is an archipelago with major employment centers in Luzon, especially Metro Manila, as well as Cebu and Davao. Pharmaceutical and market-access opportunities are concentrated in Manila, where multinational companies, hospitals, regulators, insurers, and business-service organizations are based. Filipino workplace culture is relationship-oriented, collaborative, respectful of hierarchy, and comfortable with English communication. Lifestyle options range from busy urban living and extensive shopping and dining to beaches, hiking, and island travel. Living costs vary considerably; Manila is the most expensive area, particularly for housing and commuting. Foreign employees generally need an employment-based visa, commonly a 9(g) work visa, and an Alien Employment Permit arranged with employer support. Check current immigration rules before relocating. Candidates should consider traffic, healthcare access, taxation, housing, and family needs when evaluating an offer.
