Destination Guide

Malaysia offers opportunities in technology consulting, software development, shared services, engineering, manufacturing and digital operations, especially around Kuala Lumpur, Penang and Johor. The country has a multicultural environment shaped by Malay, Chinese, Indian and Indigenous traditions; English is widely used in business. Kuala Lumpur provides the broadest career market, modern transport, international schools and varied housing, while Penang offers a more relaxed lifestyle and a strong technology and manufacturing scene. Living costs are generally lower than in Singapore or Western Europe, though central Kuala Lumpur rents can be significant. Foreign interns and employees normally need an appropriate pass sponsored or arranged by the employer; requirements depend on nationality, duration and employment type. Candidates should confirm immigration rules with Capgemini and Malaysian authorities before relocating. Malaysia’s tropical climate, diverse food and island destinations make it attractive for both work and travel.
