Destination Guide

Malaysia is not one island but a country divided between Peninsular Malaysia and Malaysian Borneo, with attractive islands such as Langkawi, Penang, Tioman, Redang, Sabah’s islands and Sarawak’s coastal areas. Technology opportunities are concentrated in Kuala Lumpur, Cyberjaya, Penang and Johor Bahru, with growing delivery and shared-services work in other cities. Malaysian workplaces are multicultural, and English is widely used in professional settings alongside Malay and Chinese languages. The lifestyle combines modern urban living, affordable food, tropical weather and easy access to beaches, rainforests and highlands. Living costs are generally lower than in Singapore or many Western cities, although Kuala Lumpur housing varies by location. Foreign employees normally need an employer-sponsored Employment Pass, while dependants may require separate passes. Candidates should confirm sponsorship, salary, medical requirements and relocation support directly with Capgemini before accepting an offer.
