Destination Guide

Malaysia offers technology opportunities mainly in Kuala Lumpur, Cyberjaya, Penang, and Johor, with growing demand for cloud, SAP, software engineering, cybersecurity, data, and AI professionals. For island living, Penang combines a strong technology scene with heritage neighborhoods, beaches, excellent food, and a relaxed lifestyle. Langkawi is quieter and scenic, suited to resort-style living but has fewer corporate roles. Sabah and Sarawak offer distinctive cultures, nature, and lower-density living, although specialist technology jobs are more limited. Malaysia is culturally diverse, with Malay, Chinese, Indian, Indigenous, and international communities. Living costs are generally moderate, though Kuala Lumpur and popular island areas can be expensive. Foreign employees normally need an employer-sponsored Employment Pass; the company handles much of the application process. Candidates should confirm salary, relocation support, taxation, healthcare, and remote-work arrangements before accepting an offer.
