Destination Guide

Malaysia offers strong opportunities in customer support, shared services, technology, finance, engineering, and multilingual operations, especially in Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Johor, and Cyberjaya. For island living, Penang combines beaches, heritage, excellent food, and a growing technology sector, while Langkawi is quieter and more tourism-focused. Malaysian culture is multicultural, with Malay, Chinese, Indian, and international influences. English is widely used in business, while Malay is the national language. Living costs are moderate, although central Kuala Lumpur and popular island areas can be more expensive. Public transport is strongest in major cities; island locations may require a car or motorbike. Foreign professionals normally need an employer-sponsored Employment Pass, with approval dependent on salary, qualifications, and the sponsoring company. Candidates should confirm visa arrangements, healthcare coverage, taxation, housing, and relocation support before accepting an offer.
