Destination Guide

Malaysia is a multicultural country with strong technology, manufacturing, shared-services, and consulting opportunities, especially in Kuala Lumpur, Cyberjaya, Penang, and Johor. Penang is known for electronics and advanced manufacturing, while Kuala Lumpur offers the widest range of corporate and IT roles. Daily life is relatively affordable compared with many global technology hubs, with good food, modern shopping areas, efficient urban services, and diverse communities. Malay, English, Mandarin, and Tamil are widely used, and English is common in professional workplaces. Malaysia is a peninsula with islands such as Langkawi, Penang, and parts of Sabah and Sarawak, offering beaches, hiking, and relaxed coastal lifestyles. Foreign professionals generally need employer-sponsored authorization, commonly an Employment Pass, before starting work. Candidates should confirm sponsorship, salary, tax, healthcare, accommodation, and dependent-pass arrangements with the employer. Relocation is easiest near major business centres and airports.
