Destination Guide

Malaysia offers strong opportunities in technology consulting, SAP, software engineering, shared services, finance, manufacturing and digital operations, particularly in Kuala Lumpur, Cyberjaya, Penang and Johor. The country has a multicultural environment shaped by Malay, Chinese, Indian and indigenous traditions, with English widely used in professional settings. Kuala Lumpur provides the broadest career market and urban lifestyle, while Penang offers a relaxed island setting, technology employers and lower living costs. Langkawi is popular for beaches and a slower pace, though it has fewer corporate jobs. Malaysia generally offers affordable food, good transport in major cities and diverse housing choices. Foreign professionals usually need an employment pass sponsored by their employer; approval and eligibility depend on salary, qualifications and role. Relocating employees should arrange documentation, health insurance, housing and tax advice before arrival. Work permits should be confirmed with Capgemini and Malaysian authorities.
