Technology jobs are concentrated in Kuala Lumpur, Cyberjaya, Penang, and Johor Bahru, with opportunities in software engineering, testing, shared services, cloud, consulting, and manufacturing technology. Foreign professionals usually need employer-sponsored approval, such as an Employment Pass, before starting work. Relocating is easiest with a signed offer, verified qualifications, passport validity, medical coverage, and suitable accommodation. Penang and Kota Kinabalu offer a more relaxed coastal lifestyle, while Kuala Lumpur provides the broadest career market.
