Destination Guide

Malaysia offers varied opportunities for technology professionals, especially in Kuala Lumpur, Cyberjaya, Penang, and Johor Bahru. Demand is strong in software engineering, cloud, cybersecurity, data, consulting, shared services, and digital product management. For island living, Penang combines a growing technology sector with heritage districts, beaches, good food, and a relaxed lifestyle. Langkawi is quieter and more tourism-focused, while Sabah and Sarawak offer distinctive cultures, nature, and lower-density living, though specialist jobs are fewer. Malaysia is multicultural, with Malay, Chinese, Indian, and Indigenous influences; English is widely used in business. Living costs are generally moderate, but Kuala Lumpur is more expensive than many regional areas. Foreign professionals normally need employer sponsorship for an Employment Pass, with approval and salary requirements applying. Candidates should confirm visa, tax, healthcare, and relocation details with Capgemini before moving.
