Destination Guide

Malaysia offers opportunities in ERP consulting, technology delivery, finance transformation, shared services and digital operations, especially in Kuala Lumpur, Cyberjaya, Penang and Johor. Kuala Lumpur is the main corporate hub, while Penang combines technology employment with a relaxed coastal lifestyle. Popular island destinations include Langkawi, Tioman, Redang and parts of Sabah and Sarawak, although most professional roles are based on the mainland. The culture is multicultural, with Malay, Chinese, Indian and indigenous influences, and English is widely used in business. Living costs are moderate compared with many major Asian cities, though central Kuala Lumpur is more expensive. Overseas hires generally need employer sponsorship for an Employment Pass; the company normally handles the application. Candidates should confirm qualifications, salary thresholds, medical requirements and dependent-pass rules before relocating.
