Destination Guide

Malaysia offers technology opportunities in Kuala Lumpur, Cyberjaya, Penang and Johor Bahru, especially in software development, shared services, cloud, cybersecurity and digital consulting. Kuala Lumpur provides the largest job market, while Penang combines technology employers with a relaxed coastal lifestyle. The country is culturally diverse, with Malay, Chinese, Indian and indigenous traditions, and English is widely used in professional settings. Living costs are generally lower than in Singapore or Australia, although central Kuala Lumpur rents can be comparatively high. Malaysia has tropical weather, excellent food, modern shopping areas and easy access to beaches and islands such as Langkawi, Redang and Perhentian. Foreign interns and employees usually need an appropriate pass arranged through the sponsoring employer; requirements depend on nationality, duration and employment type. Before relocating, confirm sponsorship, accommodation, insurance, tax obligations and required documents with Capgemini and Malaysian authorities.
