Destination Guide

Malaysia offers technology opportunities in Kuala Lumpur, Cyberjaya, Penang, and Johor, particularly in SAP consulting, cloud services, software engineering, shared services, and digital transformation. Kuala Lumpur provides the broadest job market, international schools, hospitals, transport, restaurants, and modern apartments. Penang combines a strong technology and manufacturing sector with a relaxed island lifestyle, beaches, heritage areas, and diverse food culture. Langkawi is quieter and better suited to holidays or remote living than corporate employment. Malaysian culture is multicultural, welcoming, and shaped by Malay, Chinese, Indian, and indigenous traditions. Living costs are moderate compared with many regional hubs. Foreign professionals normally need employer sponsorship for an Employment Pass, with approval requirements depending on salary and role. Relocating workers should arrange a valid offer, passport, qualifications, medical checks, housing, banking, and tax registration before arrival.
