Destination Guide

Malaysia is a multicultural country made up of Peninsular Malaysia and East Malaysia on Borneo, with popular islands such as Langkawi, Penang, Tioman, and Sabah’s coastal islands. Job opportunities are strongest in Kuala Lumpur and Selangor, with growing engineering, manufacturing, shared-services, technology, and consulting sectors in Penang, Johor, and Sabah. Malay, English, Mandarin, and Tamil are commonly heard, and workplaces are generally diverse and internationally oriented. Living costs are moderate compared with many major Asian cities, while food, public transport, beaches, rainforests, and weekend travel are major lifestyle benefits. Foreign interns usually need an appropriate internship or employment pass arranged with the host company before arrival. Requirements vary by nationality and program, so candidates should confirm sponsorship, medical checks, and immigration procedures with Capgemini and Malaysian authorities. Accommodation near major business districts is convenient but more expensive.
