Destination Guide

Malaysia offers technology opportunities mainly in Kuala Lumpur and the surrounding Klang Valley, with additional roles in Penang, Johor and Cyberjaya. Java, cloud, SAP, cybersecurity and data professionals are in demand across consulting, banking, telecommunications, manufacturing and shared-service centers. The country combines Malay, Chinese, Indian and international influences, with English widely used in business. Kuala Lumpur provides extensive dining, shopping and entertainment, while Penang offers a slower lifestyle, heritage areas and beaches. Living costs are generally moderate compared with Singapore, although central Kuala Lumpur housing is more expensive. Foreign employees normally need employer sponsorship for an Employment Pass, and the employer typically manages the application. Candidates should confirm eligibility, salary thresholds and dependent arrangements with Capgemini and Malaysian authorities before relocating. Malaysia’s tropical climate, public transport in major cities and diverse food culture make it attractive for international professionals.
