Destination Guide

Malaysia offers opportunities in cloud computing, technology consulting, shared services, software, cybersecurity, finance, manufacturing, logistics, and digital commerce. Kuala Lumpur and Petaling Jaya are the main professional hubs, while Penang and Johor also have strong technology and industrial markets. Malaysia combines Malay, Chinese, Indian, and indigenous cultures, with English widely used in business. Lifestyle costs are generally lower than in Singapore or many Western cities, although central Kuala Lumpur housing can be expensive. The country offers excellent food, tropical weather, beaches, and access to islands such as Langkawi, Tioman, and Perhentian. Foreign employees normally require employer-sponsored authorization, commonly an Employment Pass, before starting work. Employers typically handle the application, while candidates need a valid passport, qualifications, and an employment contract. Research housing, healthcare, taxation, and local transport before relocating.
