Destination Guide

Malaysia offers strong technology and consulting opportunities, especially in Kuala Lumpur, Cyberjaya, Penang, and Johor. SAP, cloud, cybersecurity, software engineering, shared services, and digital transformation roles are available with global firms and local enterprises. For island living, Penang combines beaches, heritage, excellent food, and a growing technology sector, while Langkawi offers a quieter lifestyle and fewer corporate opportunities. Malaysian culture is multicultural, welcoming, and shaped by Malay, Chinese, Indian, and Indigenous traditions. Living costs are generally moderate, though central Kuala Lumpur and popular areas of Penang cost more. Foreign professionals normally need an employer-sponsored Employment Pass; the company must meet Malaysian immigration requirements and handle the application. Bring certified qualifications, verify contract terms, and arrange accommodation and healthcare before relocating. English is widely used in business, although learning basic Malay helps with daily life.
