Malaysia offers technology opportunities in Kuala Lumpur, Cyberjaya and Penang, with roles in software development, CRM, cloud, data, engineering, shared services and consulting. Penang is especially attractive for technology and electronics jobs, while Langkawi and Sabah and Sarawak offer a slower lifestyle and strong tourism or services sectors. Kuala Lumpur provides the widest employment market, international schools, public transport, shopping and diverse food, but housing and traffic can be demanding. Malaysian culture is multicultural, combining Malay, Chinese, Indian and indigenous traditions; English is widely used in professional settings. Living costs are moderate compared with many Western cities. Foreign interns and employees should confirm whether their employer arranges the appropriate Professional Visit Pass, Employment Pass or other immigration approval before arrival. Requirements vary by nationality, role and contract. Secure accommodation and health insurance in advance, and check work authorization carefully before relocating.
