Destination Guide

Malaysia offers opportunities in consulting, technology, shared services, e-commerce, finance, engineering, tourism, and manufacturing. Kuala Lumpur and nearby Selangor are the main employment hubs, while Penang, Johor, Sabah, and Sarawak also have growing industries. The country blends Malay, Chinese, Indian, and indigenous cultures, with diverse food, festivals, and languages. Lifestyle costs are generally moderate, although central Kuala Lumpur is more expensive. Popular island destinations include Langkawi, Penang, the Perhentian Islands, Redang, Tioman, and parts of Sabah. Foreign professionals usually need an employer-sponsored Employment Pass; the employer normally manages the application and salary eligibility requirements. Candidates should confirm current immigration rules, medical requirements, taxation, housing, schooling, and health insurance before relocating. English is widely used in corporate environments, but learning basic Malay supports daily life and integration.
