Destination Guide

Malaysia offers opportunities in cybersecurity, cloud services, software development, shared services, consulting and digital operations, especially around Kuala Lumpur, Cyberjaya, Penang and Johor. For island living, Penang combines strong technology employment with heritage streets, beaches, affordable food and a relaxed lifestyle. Langkawi is quieter and scenic but has fewer professional roles. Sabah and Sarawak, on Borneo, offer nature, diverse cultures and growing urban centers such as Kota Kinabalu and Kuching. Malaysia is culturally diverse, with Malay, Chinese, Indian and Indigenous communities, and English is widely used in business. Living costs are moderate, though Kuala Lumpur and popular island areas can be more expensive. Foreign employees normally need employer-sponsored permission, commonly an Employment Pass, arranged before starting work. Relocating candidates should confirm visa eligibility, medical requirements, housing, taxation and whether the role is office-based, hybrid or remote.
