Destination Guide

Malaysia offers opportunities in technology delivery, SAP consulting, cloud engineering, software development, shared services and digital transformation, particularly in Kuala Lumpur, Cyberjaya and Penang. For an island lifestyle, Penang combines a strong technology sector with heritage streets, beaches and excellent food. Langkawi is quieter and more resort-oriented, while Sabah and Sarawak on Borneo offer nature, outdoor activities and growing business hubs such as Kota Kinabalu and Kuching. Malaysian culture is multicultural, with Malay, Chinese, Indian and Indigenous influences, and English is widely used in professional settings. Living costs are generally moderate, though central Kuala Lumpur and popular island areas are more expensive. Foreign employees normally require employer-sponsored work authorization, commonly an Employment Pass. Applicants should confirm visa rules, tax obligations, healthcare and relocation support with Capgemini before moving.
