Destination Guide

Malaysia offers technology opportunities mainly in Kuala Lumpur, Cyberjaya, Penang, and Johor, with roles in software engineering, SAP, cloud, cybersecurity, data, and shared services. Penang is especially attractive for technology and electronics professionals, while Langkawi and other islands offer a slower lifestyle rather than a large job market. Malaysian culture is multicultural, with Malay, Chinese, Indian, and indigenous influences; English is widely used in professional settings. Living costs are moderate, though central Kuala Lumpur and popular island destinations can be more expensive. Malaysia has beaches, rainforests, excellent food, and convenient domestic travel. Foreign professionals generally need employer sponsorship for an Employment Pass, and the company normally handles the application. Candidates should confirm salary, medical coverage, relocation support, taxation, and pass eligibility before accepting an offer.
