Kuala Lumpur and nearby Selangor are the main employment centers, while Penang and Johor also have strong technology and industrial markets. Malaysia is culturally diverse, with Malay, Chinese, Indian, and indigenous influences; English is widely used in professional workplaces. Lifestyle costs are generally lower than in Singapore or major Western cities, with good food, tropical weather, modern malls, and access to beaches and islands. Popular destinations include Langkawi, Penang, Sabah, and Sarawak, although Kuala Lumpur itself is on the mainland. Foreign professionals usually need employer sponsorship for an Employment Pass, with approval handled through Malaysian immigration authorities. Relocating candidates should budget for housing deposits, health insurance, transport, and visa processing, and confirm eligibility with Capgemini before accepting an offer.
