Destination Guide

Indonesia offers opportunities across hospitality, tourism, food and beverage, security, engineering, wellness, technology, and business services. Jakarta, on Java, is the country’s main corporate center and provides the broadest professional network, while Bali, Lombok, Java’s resort areas, and destinations such as Sumatra, Sulawesi, and the Komodo region offer tourism-focused work. Indonesian culture values courtesy, community, religious diversity, and respectful communication; learning basic Bahasa Indonesia is highly useful. Jakarta provides extensive dining, shopping, and entertainment but has heavy traffic and a fast-paced lifestyle. Bali and other islands generally offer a more relaxed, outdoor-oriented environment. Foreign employees normally need employer sponsorship and the appropriate work visa or stay permit; working on a tourist visa is not permitted. Confirm current immigration rules, health insurance, accommodation, taxes, and relocation costs before accepting an offer.
