Destination Guide

Malaysia offers opportunities in business analysis, SAP consulting, AI, software development, cloud services, cybersecurity and shared-service operations, especially in Kuala Lumpur, Cyberjaya, Penang and Johor. Although Malaysia is not a single island, it includes mainland Peninsular Malaysia and island or coastal destinations such as Penang, Langkawi and parts of Sabah and Sarawak on Borneo. The culture is multicultural, with Malay, Chinese, Indian and Indigenous influences, and English is widely used in professional workplaces. Living costs are generally moderate, though Kuala Lumpur rents are higher than in smaller cities. Public transport is strongest in major urban areas, while Penang offers a popular island lifestyle. Foreign employees normally need employer-sponsored work authorization, commonly an Employment Pass, before starting work. Candidates should confirm eligibility, relocation support, taxation and visa requirements with Capgemini and Malaysian authorities.
