Destination Guide

Malaysia offers strong opportunities in technology consulting, shared services, finance operations, software, engineering and customer support, especially in Kuala Lumpur, Cyberjaya and Penang. For island living, Penang combines a lively technology sector with heritage neighborhoods, beaches and excellent food. Langkawi is quieter and more tourism-focused, while Sabah and Sarawak offer nature, multicultural communities and growing regional economies. Malaysian culture is diverse, combining Malay, Chinese, Indian and indigenous traditions, with English commonly used in professional workplaces. Living costs are moderate, though central Kuala Lumpur and popular island areas are more expensive. Public transport is strongest in major cities; cars or ride-hailing are useful elsewhere. Foreign employees usually need employer sponsorship for an Employment Pass, and approval must be obtained before starting work. Candidates should confirm visa eligibility, healthcare, taxation, housing and relocation support with Capgemini.
