Destination Guide

Malaysia offers opportunities for technology professionals in Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Johor, and Sabah and Sarawak, with demand in software development, ERP consulting, cloud, cybersecurity, shared services, and digital transformation. For island living, Penang combines a strong technology sector, heritage streets, beaches, and relatively manageable living costs. Langkawi is quieter and more tourism-focused, while parts of Borneo offer outdoor lifestyles and access to nature but fewer corporate technology roles. Malaysian culture is multicultural, with Malay, Chinese, Indian, and indigenous influences, and English is widely used in business. Urban lifestyles are convenient, with affordable food and transport, although Kuala Lumpur is more expensive. Foreign professionals usually require employer-sponsored Employment Pass approval before working; dependants may need separate passes. Candidates should confirm sponsorship, medical requirements, taxation, accommodation, and relocation support with Capgemini before accepting an offer.
