Destination Guide

Malaysia offers strong opportunities in software engineering, cloud, data, cybersecurity, shared services and consulting, especially in Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Johor and Cyberjaya. The country has a multicultural society influenced by Malay, Chinese, Indian and indigenous traditions, with English widely used in business. Lifestyle costs are generally lower than in Singapore or many Western cities, while public transport, food, healthcare and regional travel are accessible. Peninsular and East Malaysia also provide beaches, rainforest and island destinations such as Langkawi, Penang, Sabah and Sarawak. Foreign professionals normally need employer sponsorship for an Employment Pass, with approval and immigration processing handled by the company. Relocating candidates should confirm salary, pass eligibility, medical coverage, tax obligations and housing support before accepting an offer. Kuala Lumpur is usually the easiest base for international technology careers.
