Destination Guide

Australia is an island continent with job opportunities in logistics, warehousing, transport, aviation, healthcare, construction, technology, hospitality and agriculture. Major employment centres include Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, Adelaide and regional hubs. The culture is generally informal, multicultural and outdoors-oriented, with emphasis on workplace safety, fairness and work-life balance. Lifestyle costs vary considerably: Sydney and Melbourne are expensive, while some regional areas offer lower housing costs but fewer services. People relocating should budget for rent, transport, health cover and initial settlement costs. Work rights depend on the visa: skilled, employer-sponsored, working holiday and student visas each have different conditions and limits. Non-citizens should check current requirements with the Australian Department of Home Affairs and confirm that their visa permits the specific job and working hours.
