Destination Guide

Malaysia offers strong opportunities in Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Johor and Cyberjaya, particularly in software development, shared services, consulting, manufacturing technology, cloud and engineering systems. For a Teamcenter developer, Kuala Lumpur and Penang are the most likely locations for multinational projects and manufacturing clients. Malaysian workplace culture is generally respectful and team-oriented, with English widely used in professional settings. The lifestyle is relatively affordable, with excellent food, shopping, public transport in major cities and easy access to beaches and islands such as Langkawi, Tioman and Penang. Foreign professionals usually need an Employment Pass sponsored by their employer; the company normally handles the application, subject to immigration and salary requirements. Before relocating, check housing, healthcare, taxation, dependants' passes and commuting arrangements. Malaysia has a tropical climate, so expect year-round heat, humidity and seasonal heavy rain.
