Malaysia offers opportunities in technology consulting, software delivery, engineering, shared services, manufacturing, finance, and digital operations. Kuala Lumpur and nearby Selangor are the main employment hubs, while Penang is strong in electronics and engineering, and Johor benefits from Singapore-linked business. For island living, Penang provides a lively urban environment, good food, beaches, and a large expatriate community; Langkawi is quieter and more resort-oriented. Living costs are moderate, public transport is strongest in major cities, and English is widely used professionally. Foreign employees normally need employer-sponsored approval and an Employment Pass before starting work. Relocating requires arranging accommodation, healthcare coverage, banking, tax registration, and document legalization.
