Destination Guide

Malaysia offers strong opportunities in technology consulting, software, shared services, engineering, manufacturing and digital operations, especially around Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Johor and Cyberjaya. Its island destinations provide a relaxed lifestyle outside work: Penang combines heritage, food and a growing technology scene; Langkawi is quieter and nature-focused; and Sabah and Sarawak offer beaches, diving, rainforests and indigenous cultures. Malaysia is multicultural, with Malay, Chinese, Indian and regional traditions reflected in food, festivals and daily life. Living costs are generally moderate, though Kuala Lumpur and popular islands can be more expensive. International interns normally need the appropriate employment or training pass arranged with the host organisation; tourist entry does not permit work. Check current Malaysian immigration rules before relocating. Plan for humid weather, reliable urban transport and private health insurance where required.
