Destination Guide

Malaysia offers technology opportunities mainly in Kuala Lumpur and nearby Selangor, with additional roles in Penang, Johor and Cyberjaya. Penang is especially known for electronics, engineering and a growing technology community, while Langkawi, Tioman, Redang and the Perhentian Islands are popular for beaches and relaxed island living. Malaysian culture is multicultural, combining Malay, Chinese, Indian and Indigenous traditions, with excellent food and generally welcoming communities. Urban life is affordable compared with many international technology hubs, although Kuala Lumpur rents and commuting costs can be higher. English is widely used in business, while Malay is the national language. Foreign interns or employees normally need employer sponsorship and the appropriate employment or professional visit pass; requirements depend on nationality, duration and role. Secure an offer before relocating, confirm visa responsibility with Capgemini, and budget for accommodation, healthcare, transport and a refundable rental deposit.
