Destination Guide

Malaysia offers career opportunities in Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Johor and Cyberjaya, particularly in technology services, engineering, manufacturing, shared services, data, cloud and digital transformation. Although Malaysia is not one island, destinations such as Penang, Langkawi and parts of Sabah and Sarawak provide attractive island or coastal lifestyles. The culture is multicultural, with Malay, Chinese, Indian and Indigenous influences, and English is widely used in professional workplaces. Living costs are generally moderate, though Kuala Lumpur rents and transport expenses are higher than in smaller cities. International interns should confirm whether the employer sponsors the correct internship or employment pass; visa rules depend on nationality, program length and salary. Secure an offer, passport validity, accommodation and insurance before arrival. Public transport is strongest in Kuala Lumpur, while Penang is popular for its food, heritage and relaxed lifestyle.
