Kuala Lumpur and Selangor provide the widest choice of international employers, while Penang is strong in manufacturing and technology. Urban life is convenient and relatively affordable, although central Kuala Lumpur housing and commuting costs can be higher. Beaches, rainforests, and islands such as Langkawi, Tioman, and Redang offer easy weekend travel. Foreign professionals generally need employer sponsorship for an Employment Pass, with the company handling much of the application process. Candidates should verify current salary thresholds, documentation, dependants' permissions, and tax rules before relocating.
