Destination Guide

Malaysia offers opportunities in Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Johor, and Sabah and Sarawak, especially in IT consulting, software, cloud, SAP, finance, manufacturing, and shared services. Penang is known for technology and electronics, while Langkawi and Sabah offer a slower island lifestyle and strong tourism economies. Malaysian culture blends Malay, Chinese, Indian, Indigenous, and international influences, with diverse food, festivals, and languages. Urban life is convenient and comparatively affordable, although Kuala Lumpur rents and commuting costs are higher. Beaches, rainforests, diving, and island travel are major lifestyle attractions. Foreign professionals normally need employer sponsorship for an Employment Pass, with the company and immigration authorities handling approval. Requirements can vary by salary, role, nationality, and pass category. Before relocating, confirm sponsorship, medical checks, tax obligations, housing, healthcare, and dependent-pass arrangements. English is widely used in business, while learning basic Malay helps with daily life and integration.
