Penang is known for its technology and electronics sector, while Langkawi offers a slower island lifestyle and strong tourism economy. Sabah and Sarawak provide distinctive cultures, nature, and growing infrastructure and energy industries. Malaysian life combines modern cities, affordable food, tropical weather, and diverse Malay, Chinese, Indian, and indigenous traditions. Kuala Lumpur is the main professional hub, with extensive international connections and higher living costs than smaller cities. Foreign professionals normally need an employer-sponsored Employment Pass, with the company handling much of the application process. Dependants may require separate passes. Candidates should confirm current immigration rules, qualifications, salary thresholds, healthcare arrangements, and relocation support before accepting an offer.
