Malaysia offers varied employment opportunities in shared services, customer support, technology, finance, manufacturing, tourism, and digital operations. Kuala Lumpur and nearby Selangor are the main business hubs, while Penang and Johor also attract technology and service employers. The country has a multicultural environment, with Malay, Chinese, Indian, and international influences reflected in its food, festivals, and daily life. Living costs are generally moderate, though housing in central Kuala Lumpur is more expensive. Malaysia has tropical weather, convenient public transport in major cities, and many beaches and islands, including Langkawi, Penang, and the Perhentian Islands. Foreign workers normally need an employer-sponsored Employment Pass, and the company must complete the relevant approval and immigration process before employment begins. Relocating employees should budget for rent, deposits, healthcare, transport, and possible visa fees.
