Destination Guide

The Philippines offers hospitality and events opportunities in Manila, Cebu, Boracay, Palawan, Davao and other resort destinations. Manila has the widest range of corporate events and hotel positions, while island locations provide resort, wedding and leisure-event work. Filipino culture is warm, sociable and family-oriented, with English widely used in hotels and business. Lifestyle varies from busy urban living to a slower beach-oriented pace; commuting and rainy-season travel can be challenging. Foreign nationals normally need an employer-sponsored work permit and appropriate visa, while Filipinos should check local employment requirements and documents. Relocation costs, housing, transport and healthcare should be discussed with the employer. Candidates should also research the specific island’s infrastructure, weather, salary levels and availability of accommodation before accepting a position.
